I started with a working '99 Kawasaki ZX9R (aftermarket exhaust and fuel jets). I named her Claire because she is my most sophisticated bike to date.
I crashed within a month, cracked the fairings. So I removed them and jerry-rigged the headlamp.
I took the naked version of Claire to trackday at Thunderhill Raceway. My best time was 3:03 so a long ways to go...
Added some super stupid looking neons from ebay. Sweet.
I bought an aftermarket LED 7" headlight from ebay for $40 and front fairing from 4into1.com in South SF. My co-workers are making fun of me for the Mad Max look. Maybe I'll keep that.
Cracked my carbon fiber exhaust. Used the Gorilla Carbonworks patchkit, which worked surprisingly well. Used the epoxy on my whole muffler to get a refreshed gloss. Note: epoxy took 24 hours to harden.
Took an angle grinder to the gas tank and clear coated with KBS Diamond finish. It was the only clear coat applied by brush that won't yellow in the sun. I fully expect it to start rusting under the clear coat in a year...the cost of vanity, I guess.
